I led the vision and execution of an experience that brought the community together for an evening of art, movement, and connection.

The background

2016 was a tumultuous year.

With a heated election and unrest in local communities, lululemon wanted to take a stand for unity.

By partnering with advocates for inclusivity, we created an experience to highlight how we are all wonderfully different and, because of this, stronger.

Community

We partnered with teachers to create an inclusive yoga class accessible to everyone.

Art

We engaged artists who were activists for equality and peace, creating live works inspired by the audience.

Culture

We wove in brass bands and secondlines, Louisiana cultural traditions that highlight our passion for connection.

Impact:

Camaraderie: 275 people attended the event from New Orleans and Baton Rouge, bridging the two communities.

Storytelling: We partnered with a boutique agency to produce a film about the event. The video garnered 90K organic views on Instagram, elevating our local communities to inspire our global audience.

Mission: Our intention was accomplished: to give without the expectation of receiving, to amplify up-and-coming yoga teachers and artists, and to deeply move our community.
